Do All the Good You Can

In order to help yourself, your spiritual life, and society in general, read on my friends.....
For every fast you observe, take the money you would have spent to purchase food, and donate it - with donations preferably going to an organization that does food distribution and food drives.
ISKCON has www.foodrelief.org as well as www.ffl.org - so start there to find out how you can help - 'Over the last 25 years 1,500 volunteers have established vegetarian food relief services in 65 countries'.
Fast at least once a month- because having the body work 365 days per year can, in time, cause health problems. If you observe Ekadasi, this is the perfect way to take this further. We, in the affluent countries, have an even greater responsibility towards mankind than others may have. I say this because I know that along with blessings and good fortune comes a greater responsibility. Therefore, giving in charity is not only an auspicious thing to do, it is beneficial in every aspect, and ultimately, it is our duty.
"Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can."
- John Wesley
English religious leader (1703 - 1791)
