On Eating Leeks And Drinking Decaf
Posted March 31, 2006
You can eat anything that you want to. However, leeks are in the same family as onions.
A cup of coffee has about 60 to 100 milligrams of caffeine, some more, some less. A cup of decaf has about 5 milligrams, about the same as an ounce of milk chocolate. In my opinion, no, you shouldn't drink decaf coffee. Why not draw the line at zero? That'll help us with the low alcohol beer quandry as well. There are other health questions about decaf, from the possible impact on the heart, and from the processes used to decaffeinate. Beyond the chemicals used, the process also has a significant flavor modification.
However, there are usually worse problems in our lives beyond
small amounts of caffeine in our diets.
