Dear Niscala d.d.,

Dandavat pranams. Sri Sri Guru Gaurangau jayatah!

I could't help but notice in your recent article that you attribute Brahma prabhu as saying "A female guru would have to possess a demeanor that would conflict with the natural feminine qualities that are so attractive in a Vaisnavi and that task would be greatly demanding." For the record, I would like to point out that this was actually the position that Brahma himself was rebutting.

Brahma's points are clearly stated in the second part of the letter. Also given that he is among the first devotees to write and post articles in support of the concept of women gurus in modern Gaudiya Vaisnavism (e.g. http://www.vnn.org/editorials/ET0206/ET07-7375.html), against sexism in Krishna Consciousness, etc., I thought it would be more than apparent that he would never have espoused such a view.

I just wanted to make sure you were aware that Brahma didn't say what you thought he said!

Your servant,
Rama Kesava dasa
