The Passing Of Sri Rama Das
Posted January 7, 2006
It is with a sad heart that we hear of the passing of Sri Rama das, a longtime disciple of Srila Prabhupada. Sri Rama prabhu departed at approximately 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2005 at his home in Citrus Heights, California.
For the last three years, Sri Rama prabhu's health had been very bad. More than a year ago he suffered a stroke, which left him partially debilitated.
On November 28, devotees learned that Sri Rama prabhu was hospitalized in critical condition with heart failure, kidney failure and pneumonia. He was on life support systems and the devotees prayed for him. Sri Rama remained in critical condition but then there was improvement. He was released from the hospital and returned home on December 10.
On December 12 he surprisingly sounded quite strong and in good spirits. He complained about having been in the hospital and was glad to be home. On December 29 his condition worsened and the pneumonia recurred. He had been scheduled to return to the hospital on January 2.
Narayani dasi has been caring for him during the whole time of his debility. Due to his condition, neither he nor his wife were able to work. Anyone who is interested in contributing towards the cost of his funeral and cremation or who would like to assist his wife financially can send a donation to: Mrs. Nellie Klimek, 6016 Sunrise Vista Drive. Apt. #64, Citrus Heights, California 95610. Narayani prabhu's phone number is 916-705-7621.
Please continue to pray for Sri Rama and for the ongoing well-being of
his wife. She hopes to send his ashes to either Vrindaban or Mayapur
but financial assistance is required for this to happen. Please help if
