Remembering Jahnavi Prabhu
Posted August 12, 2008
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Jahnavi prabhu. As a founding director of Children of Krishna, she was a tireless advocate for the welfare of children. As a woman and a mother she conveyed a balance to the organization that was invaluable.
When she assumed the role of Executive Director, she brought with her certain attributes that strengthened its effectiveness. Her passion for justice and equality was inspiring. Many times she took calls in the middle of the night from distraught members of the second generation to provide assistance and comfort.
She had many friends in Alachua and throughout the country. Even when she was suffering through her illness, I was told that she always maintained her sense of humor. The only solace is that she is in a better place now. Jahnavi will be thoroughly missed.
