Child Protection In Every Temple
Posted September 6, 2005
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Hare Krsna.I have just recently found out that there is not a child protection office in every temple throughout Iskcon. Some may ask what is so important about having such an office. The simple fact is that if your local temple or farm community has a cow protection office but not a child protection office then in so many words they are saying that they value the cows more then the children, especially with some of the current issues going on.
I feel that all temples should support the CPO because they are currently reading and reporting the true pulse of modern-day Iskcon. Those that choose to ignore or not support them are actually in denial of the problems that are plaguing Srila Prabhupada`s Iskcon.
Is there any devotee out there that could clarify the relationship between the GBC and the CPO,because i get the distinct feeling that the GBC are making a mockery out of the CPO,as proven by there actions in the past. For those of us who have children and love children, this is not acceptable.
Perhaps ask your local GBC why there is not a CPO office there, and if not,why not? Srila Prabhupada said that those who have children, that the child is your deity and that if you are too busy to look after them properly that you should put your pujari service aside.
Srila Prabhupada valued children, when will present-day Iskcon?
