Prabhupada won't cry; he will smile!
Posted May 8, 2005
This is in response to HG Syamasundar prabhu's article, "Why Make Prabhupada Cry?" (posted April 29, 2005).
HG Syamasundar prabhu describes Srila Prabhupada's Maryland trip. During that trip, His Divine Grace cried when he saw karmis (fruitive workers) wasting their lives by playing golf in a local country club.
Contrast that with the upcoming "Devotional Golf Tournament." The event will be a gathering of devotees with Krishna in the center. Krishna's senses, not ours, will be satisfied in this purifying, competitive event.
Even the Lord Himself, in His incarnation as Caitanya, dearly loved a sport - swimming!
"In all activities just depend upon Me and work always under My protection. In such devotional service, be fully conscious of Me." (Bhagavad-gita As It Is, 18.57). How can one not be in Krishna consciousness in any gathering of the devotees?
Please be assured that His Divine Grace won't cry. Rather, he will be "all smiles" as he blesses the holy gathering!
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada,
