By Reading This One Book

We often hear debate and discussion about whether or not reading books alone will be sufficient for attaining to the platform of love of God. The debate has raged on since the passing away of the founder-acharya of ISKCON, Srila Prabhupada.
It's curious to note that Srila Prabhupada actually dedicated his KRISHNA BOOK to his father, Gaura Mohan De, and not unto his diksha guru, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Goswami Maharaja.
"To My Father, Gaura Mohan De (1849-1930)
A pure devotee of Krsna, who raised me as a Krsna conscious child from the beginning of my life. In my boyhood ages he instructed me how to play the mridanga. He gave me Radha-Krsna Vigraha to worship, and he gave me Jagannatha-Ratha to duly observe the festival as my childhood play. He was kind to me, and I imbibed from him the ideas later on solidified by my spiritual master, the eternal father."
So, the original siksha guru of Srila Prabhupada was his father, Gaura Mohan De, who had a grand mission planned for his son as was foretold by the astrologer at the time of his son's birth. Srila Prabhupada's father groomed him from birth for this mission and had him trained in Krishna consciousness, mridanga playing, Rathayatra festivals etc.
As such, we can see that ISKCON was really the product not only of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur, but also of the vision and devotion of Gaura Mohan De. Srila Prabhupada was a devotee from birth. He was prepared from within his mother's womb to be a great devotee of Lord Krishna. We should not neglect to understand the contribution that Gaura Mohan De made to the spreading of Krishna consciousness all over the world.
For those who say that one cannot attain perfection simply by reading the books of Srila Prabhupada, we would like to present a statement from Srila Prabhupada in his introduction to KRISHNA BOOK.
"By reading this one book, KRISHNA, love of God will fructify".
