Cooking for London Rathayatra
Posted July 10, 2011
The mission this year was to cook a feast for 15,000 people. Titiksu prabhu is the organiser of the London Rathayatra, an amazing event with three carts. It was ekadasi, so all the preparations were cooked without grains. This year's menu was subji, mashed potatoes, halava, srikhand and juice. To give an idea of the scale of things, we spent £1,000 on paneer and £1,000 on dairy products such as sour cream and ingredients for srikhand. Food For All organised the cooking, and we had a great turnout of helpers with real community spirit based around Lord Jagannath. Jai Jagannath!
