Helping ISKCON Manila FFL
Posted November 11, 2009
Many years ago in the Brooklyn temple, Tamal Krishna Maharaja and Mahasringa Prabhu were visiting the temple.
Mahasringa asked Tamal Krishna Maharaja, "Nam Sankirtana is from Manila, maybe we can ask him to go there." Tamal Krishna Maharaja looked at him and at me, and shrugged it off, as he knew I would not leave New York.
Three years ago I was fortunate enough to go home, back to Manila, after so many years of not having visited my home country of the Philippines. I was met by really nice devotees, who showed me love and hospitality that I have not seen since the New York 55th Street temple,
The Deities in the Manila Temple, Sri Sri Radha Madhava were gorgeous and the Prasad was awesome. The same temple room that was flooded during the recent disaster was the same temple room I sat down in three years ago. When I saw a picture of it flooded with water three weeks ago, I just felt terrible. I contacted my best friends in ISKCON, to ask them to give a donations to help out and they did not hesitate to give a donation, I am sure that Tamal Krishna Maharaja would have loved to see this.
Thanks to the following devotees who donated generously: Mahaprabhu Dasa, Dhritarashtra Dasa & Tulasi devi Dasi, Jada Bharata Dasa, Rama Raya Dasa, Sarottama Dasa, Nama Sankirtana
I do not want to forget how sweet the Harinama was in Manila when I was there three years ago. The people there were so appreciative, just like the old great New York Harinams.
The Food for Life pictures that I saw with the devotees half submerged in water was the best Prasadam distribution pictures I ever saw. Real warriors!
I would have loved to serve the Prasadam in Manila, if I was there.
