Hanuman (Damodar das) and Advaita Candra das launch Where's Hanuman? in Kolkata.

At a packed house in Starmark, the biggest bookstore of Kolkata (Calcutta), Penguin Books has launched Advaita Candra das's brainchild Where's Hanuman? — a picture adventure book that gives children a captivating and fun way to begin learning the treasured story of Hanuman and the Ramayana.

Describing the book to a fascinated audience of kids and their parents, Advaita Candra told them: "Within the 32 pages of this beautifully illustrated book, you will journey into the midst of the most exciting scenes of the great classic Ramayana. From 'Sita's Wedding,' 'Demons in the Forest' and 'Attacking Lanka' to the final triumphant ride of the monkeys on the magical airplane Pushpaka, the scenes are sure to boggle the mind and eyes. Children of all ages as well as adults will remain engaged for hours as they try and find Hanuman and all the other characters cleverly hidden in each scene."

Penguin picked up the Indian subcontinent publication rights earlier this year and are giving the book a major push nationally. "We feel it will be one of our biggest books this year, and we are proud to put it out under our Puffin imprint," said Varun Choudary from Penguin. "We are looking forward to seeing similarly successful launch events in the major metros during the course of the next few weeks."

One of the highlights of the launch event was the appearance of Hanuman, much to the kids' delight. Mayapur devotee Damodar das was made up in a superb costume created by Ramadevi of the Mayapur deity department. His spectacular appearance and stroll around the mall prior to the event created a lot of excitement.
