Review of Delhi Guesthouse
Posted March 19, 2010
I recently stayed at the Hare Krishna Guest House in Sant Nagar, New Delhi. I was there for more than two weeks with my son, although we did some traveling in between. We came to Delhi to do an extended puja with some brahmana friends of mine, as well as to tour other holy sites.
We were honestly quite delighted by the entire experience. The guesthouse manager Haridas was not only a true gentleman/host, but also earnestly took care of every need, request and question that we had. He and his staff really made us feel like family. Believe me - that made a hug difference in the life quality of our stay there.
We also loved the fact that we had our own driver, Suvash, who spoke English quite well. He was always there when we needed him - and we needed him a lot! He knew the city like the back of his hand, as well as fine places to eat & shop. We developed a genuine friendship which makes us look forward to going back and continuing our adventures in Delhi and beyond with him at the helm.
The room accommodations were very satisfactory. We stayed in a suite with a bedroom, living room and terrace. It was cozy with plenty of room to eat, relax and do my morning yoga routine. They even supplied the yoga mats!
We also had extremely tasty and very reasonably priced meals cooked for us regularly by the staff as a package deal.
Overall on a scale of 1-10 I would rate our stay at the guesthouse a 9 1/2. They helped make this trip exceptional for us. I highly recommend this place to anyone coming to Delhi. It is also just a 5 minute walk to the Iskcon temple, restaurant and multimedia museum, all of which we visited regularly.
