Marti Walker held a beautiful, mesmerizing kirtan performance at the Las Vegas ISKCON centre on June 30. The concert room was packed with guests, who enjoyed her heartfelt chanting and rendering of Vaishnava chants, accompanied by her professional skills on keyboard, flute and harmonium, along with the percussion of Manvantara prabhu, who is a disciple of Srila Prabhupada.
Among the many newcomers that came to the temple, an Indian lady asked if Marti played for other temples. She said that the spiritual emotions she felt in her heart from Marti's performance were so penetrating to her soul that she would like the Indian community of the Hindu Temple of Las Vegas to experience this kind of chanting. "We Hindus all chant in our traditional way," she said, "but this was special. It went deep into my heart."
During the performance, many guests danced in abandon as this special "Paul(a) McCartney of Kirtan" laid out ecstatic wave after wave of bliss. And there is not the least exaggeration in saying this. Other ISKCON temples would benefit greatly from having Marti and her Rasa Lila kirtan group do similar kirtan concerts in their facility, either at a festival, a Sunday Feast or a special concert event like the one held here in Las Vegas.

A $15 admission was charged and a prasadam feast was served to everyone who attended. During her new CD release tour, Marti also performed at the Sunday Feast festival at the ISKCON Tucson centre, and they already plan to have her back for their Diwali festival.
The Govinda's Center of Vedic India in Las Vegas is one of the best ISKCON centres in the USA. It has the presiding Deities of Radha Govinda, Jagannathadev, Baladev, Subhadra devi, Salagram Sila (Bala Gopal), Giri-govardhana and Sri Sri Gaura Nitai. The temple founders, Surapal das and Krishna-mayi dasi prabhus, have been here in this famous gambling capital for ten years. Every detail of their temple decoration and their guest facilities is done first class.
