House for Sale in Saranagati
Posted December 23, 2009
In an effort to assist a dear devotee in selling her land and house in Saranagati Dhama, BC, Canada I am forwarding the specs along to you. If you or anyone you know would be interested in viewing this parcel of land, feel free to contact me. The 1300-sq. ft. house, on 3 acres of land in the south end of valley, has 4 bedrooms and a loft. It is a very bright house with lots of windows, a large kitchen (with wood stove) and living room. The wood is tongue-and-groove finished and has a beautiful view of the lake and 'Govardhan Hill.' The house has hot water on demand, a large propane tank and stove and full bathroom facilities with a flushing toilet.
The house also comes with a woodshed and a two-room root cellar, along with an area suitable for repairing cars if needed. There is a new water line also. The house was the original brahmacari asrama for the Saranagati Valley; a barn with the valley's cows and horses is across the lane. The devotee has reduced her asking price from $55,000 to $45,000.
The acreage is enveloped by 3500 acres of beautiful forests, valleys, lakes, a Gov't cared-for road and a strong, mature developing Vaisnava Community. Within the Valley is a Vaisnava school run by Kar and Radha Delaney prabhus. The school is in its first leg of life and is already hailed as leading in academics and one-of-a-kind in administration by the local government board of education, where the children are officially registered for their education. The devotees in the Valley all contribute to educating the children in the form of offering age-appropriate seminars/courses like cooking classes, Vaisnava psychology, French, music, health & wellness, communications, and morning programs with Srila Prabhupada's books & instructions as the focus, with much more to come.
Saranagati is located a short 3.5-hour drive from Vancouver Temple in British Columbia. The possibilities for preaching are plentiful in the nearby town of Kamloops, which is home to many yoga centres and Thompson Rivers University. The opportunity for cow protection is also available for the right devotees.
Regular festivals are an enthusiastic example of the rich community spirit found in Saranagati. Classical Indian dance performances by the youth, weekly bhajan night, Caitanya-caritamrta class, Sunday feast and daily morning program. Rathayatra for Lord Jagannath is an ecstatic festival annually arranged, calling guests from around the globe and as close as Vancouver and Seattle. There is a summer camp held by local devotees for Vaisnava youth and which has been featured in Back to Godhead.
