Kavidatta das remembered

I'm so saddened to hear about the passing of Kavidatta prabhu. We used to distribute books together in the Port Authority and at Penn Station, La Guardia airport and JFK airport. He was always cheerful and friendly.

I remember we would wear wigs while distributing Srila Prabhupada's books. He was steadily doing 20 to 30 books a day at that time; we would be in suit and tie. I didn't like that wig so much -- in fact, I hated it -- but, for the mission of Srila Prabhupada, we did it. Kavidatta was what you would call a pakka devotee, always smiling.

I didn't see him for so many many years since that 55th Street temple; I really really miss him a lot. Kavidatta prabhu, Sanjaya prabhu, Yaduganguli prabhu, Srila prabhu, Praghosh prabhu -- we were the team. I would never forget those times with them . . . . We always get the maha prasadam from Radha Govinda, we were treated like soldiers of Radha Govinda temple; why not?

Kavidatta would go to the Port Authority in the middle of New York City; I think he deserved a medal for his service.

It is time for the world to know of the glories of Kavidatta prabhu, a deserving devotee and a quiet Maharathi of Sri Sri Radha Govinda.

With all humility I offer my obeisances to you. O good friend, may the good Lord Sri Sri Radha Govinda smile at you at this time of need. Koti dandavat, my older devotee brother and friend!
