A thank you to Bhakti Tirtha Swami
Posted May 5, 2005
I left the movement many years ago. While Krishna and Shrila Phabupada never left me I, in my own way, left them. I am one on the "burned out" former followers that simply felt there was no more light at the end of the ISKCON tunnel after Shrila Phabubada left. I am sure my story is one of many.
I saw Bhakti Tirtha Swami a while a back and was so impressed. His manner and words were just so simple and brought me back, to the reason, I once walked into a temple almost 34 years ago.
I did not know of his cancer at the time I saw him.
I have been reading his stories and seeing that perhaps there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I do not even venture to guess his status. Pure devotee or pure follower or just an amazing man with the gift of gab. However I do want to thank him for his words and bringing this soul a bit closer home again. He may be one of a kind. He may be a fluke. However, because of him, I will be walking into a temple again. I suppose it's time to reconnect with what I loved from so long ago.It is the very least I could do for him.
