Former temple president Bahudak Dasa, an early disciple of Srila Prabhupada, recently left his body at his home in Vernon BC on the evening of February 23rd.

Joining the Hare Krishna movement in 1969, Bahudak was the driving force behind the development of Krishna Consciousness in Vancouver and western Canada during those early years.

He had a love of and incredible mastery for leading Kirtan. His kirtan leading was world renowned and considered the best in the movement at one point. He was a powerful leader who could easily inspire and rally many to take to Lord Krishna's service.

Under his stewardship the present temple property in Burnaby was acquired as well as the Saranagati farm in the interior of British Columbia. He was also the driving force in the building of the temple here.

He personally purchased and brought the presiding deities of Sri Sri Radha Madana Mohan from India to Vancouver and arranged to have them installed in 1974.
