Posted September 21, 2004
Dear friends and well-wishers,
On Saturday, October 2nd, 2004 at 12:00 Noon (EDT) the Hare Krishna Center of Michiana will be participating in the annual Apple Festival Parade through downtown Niles, Michigan. This is a huge parade extendingfor over 2 miles, with marching bands and a hundred floats, with literally thousands of people, young and old, lining the streets.
The lotuslike Deities of Lord Jagannatha, Lord Baladeva and Lady Subhadra will leave their sanctuary at the Center and ride along in the parade on Their newly-built chariot, gracefully bestowing merciful smiling glances from Their moonlike faces upon the fortunate residents of Niles.
Come join the float and escort Their Lordships along in the parade.
Look for our Rathayatra Cart in the vicinity of Sycamore and 2nd Streets in Downtown Niles. (Exact lineup in the parade will not be known til the morning of the parade).
Free Rathayatra T-shirts to the first 50 participants in the parade!
As usual, a vegetarian feast will be served at the Riverfront Park in Downtown Niles.
