Welcome to the Grand Opening of the Grand Rapids Preaching Center. Just North of Grand Rapids, Michigan is a town called Rockford. Mahendra prabhu lives there on 5 acres of land. Mahendra prabhu first met the devotees about ten years ago in the Los Angeles airport. The very next day was the Los Angeles Rathayatra. He went and has been addicted to Rathayatra ever since. He is from Malaysia and was brought up as a Hindu. He said that at the time he was thinking how these westerners are so serious about spreading Vedic culture, what am I doing to help? So Mahendra prabhu has been living in Grand Rapids going to Rathayatras and praying to Lord Krishna for an opportunity to preach. Finally, this year we met him at Detroit Rathayatra and introduced him to Bhakta Andy (a long time devotee and resident of Grand Rapids). Andy only lives about five minutes from Mahendra but they never met. So now they're together and Mahendra prabhu has converted his 1200 sq. ft. pole barn into a temple room. He laid wall to wall ceramic tile and recently bought gorgeous Radha Krsna Deities about 18" tall. Information for the grand opening is as follows:
