Vaishnavi retreat underway at New Vrindavan
Posted October 13, 2003
Today we celebrated the opening day of the Vaishnavi Retreat in New Vrindavan.
The entire Radha-Vrindavanchandra Mandir was filled with beautiful, graceful Vaishnavi daughters and granddaughters of Srila Prabhupada. Today and for the next two days, the entire morning program is being offered to His Divine Grace by his loving woman servants. Today, his daughter Rukmini dasi, gave Srimad Bhagavatam class on Bhag. 5.24.29, invoking striking memories of his personal, caring attention to his disciples during his physical presence.
There were seven wonderful workshops and seminars with such diverse topics as Bhaktishastri Overview of Nectar of Devotion: Western Sweets for Krishna's Pleasure, Yoga and Ayurveda in our KC Lives; Krishna's Healing Energies; The Seven Vedic Mothers . . . to name just a few.
Prasad is fantastic. It is organic-based, wholesome, healthy and tasty. The morning menu is a feast beginning with Bhaktin Jill's Devotional Granola and fresh fruits as only one of the many courses. Even the Raw Food devotees were satisfied! There is an on going Herbal Tea & Chai table in two locations which includes fresh squeezed lemonade and other juices throughout the day for the retreatants.
The evening rounded off with a choice of Campfire Bhajans at Gopalasa Priya's or a Purification (Sweat) Lodge offered to the Holy Name. Oh yes, and Shanka prabhu's New Vrindavan Pizza!
