Kurukshetra-Vrindavan ratha trek planned
Posted November 13, 2004
With the mercy of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada, the LKBV (Lord Krishna back to Vrindavan) Rathayatra Committee of New Delhi has decided to organize the historic second Jagannath Rathayatra from Kurukshetra to Vrindavan, covering about 360 km in 31 days from January 23 to February 22, 2005. The route of the Rathayatra will be via Karnal, Panipat, New Delhi, Faridabad, Kosi, Nandgaon, Barsana and Govardhan.
To make it an international event, we seek your kind co-operation and participation. We will provide suitable accommodation, hot water, medical and laundry facilities, toilets, etc. free of cost, to the devotees accompanying the Rathayatra. Nice Prasadam (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) will be served enroute.
We are planning to organize ongoing book distribution and hold an exhibition on the activities of ISKCON world-wide at every destination point to make rural India aware of the ISKCON movement. Through Harinam Sankirtan along the way and stage programs at every destination point, the devotees hope to spread far and wide the glories of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
People who wish to participate should be in reasonably good physical condition, as the trek will average 12 km of walking a day. We would request you to kindly inform us through e-mail as to how many male and female devotees from your center will participate in the event (and for how many days each) to enable us to make proper arrangements for them. We would appreciate if you can send your response to the invitation by December 15, 2004 to:
