First Ratha Yatra in Ottawa--Canada's Capital
Posted July 29, 2005
Please join us in celebrating Ottawa's very first Ratha Yatra festival! Lord Jagannatha--the Lord of the Universe--will sit high up on his beautiful, colourful, and large chariot, which will be pulled in a jubilant parade down the streets of Ottawa. Join us in chanting the names of the Lord and dancing for His pleasure.
The parade will start at noon on Sunday, July 31st at Richmond Square 2 (1365 Richmond Rd.--across from Walmart at the Lincoln Fields Shopping Centre).
The parade will end at Andrew Haydon Park, where there will be a full afternoon of dances, dramas, chanting, art exhibits, book displays, and a free vegetarian feast!
This year marks the 30th installation anniversary of Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai in Ottawa, and we therefore invite everyone to participate in the celebration by attending the first Ratha Yatra in Ottawa on July 31st, as well as joining us for the actual installation celebration of Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai, to be held during the weekend of Lord Balarama's appearance day in August.
