On behalf of the presiding Deities, Sri Sri Radha Madhava-Hari and Sri Nathji at the ISKCON Phoenix Mandir, I would like to invite everyone to our inaugural ISKCON Jagannath Rathayatra to be held Saturday, February 14, 2004.

Many ISKCON temples celebrate this joyous spiritual event every year, following its introduction to the West by Srila Prabhupada in 1967 at San Francisco. This year is the first time the parade and festival will also take place in Arizona.

We are still negotiating details of the route with authorities, but it will be on or near Mill Avenue, a prime urban promenade in the Phoenix Valley through Tempe, Arizona, a busy tourist and business area close to Arizona State University. The Rathayatra will start at 11 am and travel two miles (about 3 km), ending in the picturesque Tempe Town Lake grounds. There will be colorful Festival of India programs including Krsna conscious dances, dramas, music, philosophy, interfaith booths, and free prasadam distribution right by the lakeshore.

For more information, including accommodation, airport pickup, directions and other arrangements or enquiries, please contact temple president Bhakta Raj das, email, tel. (480) 705 4900, or festival coordinator Radha Pran das, email, tel. (480) 759 7252.
