Vaishnava Girls' School Needs Ashram Staff
Posted March 24, 2006
Laxmimoni devi dasi, the principal of the Vaishnava Academy for Girls and a disciple of Srila Prabhupada, has asked me if I could help her find two or three female devotees to help with the school. I thought the best I could do was send her plea to Chakra.
H.H. Hrdayananda das Goswami has fulsomely praised the school: "To the best of my knowledge, the Vaishnava Academy for Girls in Alachua, Florida, is the best girls' school in the world. I have personally lectured there on numerous occasion and I find the faculty and the students to be intelligent, Krishna-conscious and productive. For a young girl seeking to prepare herself for a successful spiritual and material career, I feel there is no better option than the Vaishnava Academy for Girls."
Laxmimoni prabhu writes, "I will tell you quite frankly that we are having a crisis right now in the school in that we need to find serious, and qualified, ashram staff. We are finding that very difficult, and if we do not find someone soon then we may have to close the school. We have good people to teach academics (and yes, some of them are men), but to live with the girls and help with the ashram requires women who are spiritually strong and willing and able to help in a 'motherly' way with our students. If you know any slightly older woman who can help then that would be great. If we could get 2 or 3 such women, each of whom could help two days a week then we would solve our problem."
If you think you can help, please contact Laxmimoni dasi directly at
email@example.com or by
writing her at 18925 NW County Road 239, Alachua, Florida, USA 32615.
