My House is Still for Sale
Posted March 7, 2008
We all know Gita Nagari isn't anything like it was in its 1980's heyday (pun intended). Yes, the farm is scarcely populated, the fields fallow. Sure, there is no devotee school. The winters are long and daunting. And of course, it is located in the middle of nowhere, far from people and employment.
So, want to buy my house?
I have to say, it is a good one. Approx. 3,000 sq. ft. on 2 lush acres. Loaded with character (it is 180 years old) yet full of our ambitious renovations, which include newly refinished wood floors on the first floor, fresh no v.o.c. paint throughout the house, a stone hearth built with rocks from the Gita Nagari creekbed and a kitchen gutted and remodeled in the best our money could buy only last spring (stupid us!).
This house is a great addition to the Gita Nagari community, with ample room for grhasta guests upstairs and sannyasi or brahmacari quarters downstairs. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms, separate kitchen, prasadam hall, living room, temple room, laundry room and home office downstairs.
The lot has a large lawn with mulberry, apple, pear and peach trees. Rosebushes, lilacs, peonies, tulips , hundreds of daffodils, trumpet vine, vibernum, gooseberries, blackberries, raspberries, ornamental evergreens and old growth maples make this property very suitable for serving Sri Krishna.

I know the real estate market is awful and will only continue to get worse. So if you have some pioneering dream of being part of Gita Nagari's long coming revitalization, or just want to do a good deed and take a house off the hands of a devotee couple trying to bloop to Alachua, then please, make us an offer, any offer. firstname.lastname@example.org
All glories to the Supreme Personality of Godhead! Jaya Srila Prabhupada.
