My Guru Maharaja, H.G. Krsna-ksetra Prabhu has mercifully instructed me to establish a foundation for collecting scholarship for devotees who wish to receive education at the Bhaktivedanta College in Radhadesh (Belgium).

Today, one year after receiving this instruction, I can inform you that the Foundation for Promoting Vedic Knowledge and Culture has finally been officially registered in Rijeka, Croatia. Its short name is The Krsna Foundation, Rijeka, and the head office address is 6 Ivana Zajca Street, Rijeka, Croatia. The Foundation is active in the Republic of Croatia under the registration no. 1841807.

The purpose of the Foundation is to promote Vedic knowledge and culture. In this scope the special emphasis should be given to the importance of education of the members of the Foundation. Only persons with solid education can promote the Vedic knowledge and culture, and therefore one of most important activities of our Foundation is collecting financial means for schooling and associated accommodation.

A business account has been opened at the bank "Privredna Banka Zagreb d.d.":

Swift: pbzghr2X
Account no: 2500978-007839 for payments in Euros, or 2500840-007839 for payments in US$. (The generic number is 2500xxx-007839, where the xxx is the international code for the currency, so if you donate in some other currency, please replace xxx with the appropriate code.)

Collecting of funds will be organised through membership fees, and donations from individuals and legal entities in Croatia and foreign countries.

Through the activities of our Foundation we want to become involved in the project of education in ISKCON. If we want to invest in the future of ISKCON, we must invest in the education of our members. Right now, the main and only project of higher education in ISKCON supported by the Ministry of Education headed by Sesa Prabhu, is the Bhaktivedanta College in Belgium, which is accredited by the University of Wales Lampeter, a centre for theological and religious studies in UK.

For the year 2004/2005 two devotees from Croatia are enrolled and for them we need 4,175 Euro. With the help of devotees and other donors we hope to collect the necessary funds for our two members who will start their education in September.

Presently, the Foundation has over 30 members, devotees and friends. The membership fee is only 20 Euro per year.

This educational project is undertaken in the service for Srila Prabhupada and can be developed only by cooperation of many devotees. Once again I humbly request you to serve Srila Prabhupada together and to be the promoters of the Vedic science and culture.
