House for sale in North Carolina
Posted July 7, 2004
I have a beautiful country home for sale in Prabhupada Village, Sandy Ridge, North Carolina. Located on top of the highest hill in our little devotee village and only a four-minute walk from the temple currently under construction, the house overlooks the whole valley, with the Appalachian Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance.
The house is well built and well insulated, requires little maintenance, has character and function. I started the construction of this house in 1993, doing most of the interior work as my family and I were living in it, completing the project in 2001 -- everything is 10 years old or less (I'm a builder by trade).
Here are the specifics: 1,311 sq. ft. on 2 floors (about 122m²), situated on 5.06 acres (2.05 hectares), secluded yet accessible, partially wooded lot with big hardwood trees. A covered porch nearly surrounds the house, and there is a deck off the dining room. There is also a partially enclosed shed with a metal roof.
The house has three bedrooms and one bathroom, with ceiling fans and hardwood in most rooms. The kitchen has linoleum floors, extra-tall maple kitchen cabinets, and a cast iron wood stove on a marble and natural stone hearth. The asphalt roof shingles have 30 years of expected remaining life, the living room has a cathedral ceiling with exposed wooden beams, and the energy-efficient vinyl windows were built with low-emissivity glass and Argon gas between the dual panes.
Recently appraised at $118,500. Asking $108,000 (negotiable).
