For four days, although the weather outside was cold and icy, the devotees' hearts in Dallas were warmed by Vaisesika Prabhu's presentations on book distribution at the Dallas Sankirtan Festival held from February 16 ththrough 19th. The theme of the festival was, "Everyone Doing A Little Accomplishes A Lot."

Every session began and ended with fun, enlivening kirtans and bhajans of Srila Bhaktivinode Thakur. The seminars covered topics such as "Innovative and Painless Methods for Distributing Srila Prabhupada's Books," "Communication 101," and "The Four Iron-Clad Rules of Book Distribution: Good Sadhana, Get Books, The More You Show The More You Sell, and Organize." In addition to Vaisesika's presentations, Maha Tattva Prabhu from San Diego gave a presentation on his highly successful Sastra Dan program there, and showed the devotees how easy it is to distribute donated books on a large scale.

The original plan was to go out and immediately practice the methods learned, but due to a late-winter ice storm, the devotees were forced to stay indoors at the temple. However, their spirits were not dampened, and instead they used the opportunity to practice role playing from what was learned in the seminar, "How to Sell a Gita on Its Own Merits."

So, even though the weather was not cooperative, the Dallas Sankirtan Festival was a rousing success, with devotees of all ages participating in learning new methods of distributing Srila Prabhupada's books. As a result of the festival, the Radha Kalachandji Sankirtan Team was formed, and though there was a low turnout at the Sunday Feast due to the wintry weather, nine full sets of Srimad Bhagavatams were sold to devotees who are now eager to have them installed as Deities into their homes.

The effect has been immediate in Dallas, from seasoned book distributers becoming inspired again, to brand-new bhaktas and the youth from the community going out and trying book distribution for the first time.

Below are some quotes from devotees who attended the seminar:

"Before I attended this seminar, I was terrified at the thought of going out and distributing books. With all the great tips we were given, I see there isn't any real reason to be afraid. This is a gift we must give to the world. We must! This was Srila Prabhupada's request, that we show our love for him by distributing his books." - Bhaktin Gayla

"This was one of the most enjoyable Sankirtana Seminars that I've ever had the privilege of conducting. The Dallas devotees are expert in every way, yet they maintain a sweet mood of love, trust, and humble cooperation amongst themselves. I predict that the Radha Kalachandji Sankirtana Team (RKST) will soon evolve into one of the most effective Sankirtana teams in the country (and later, the world). All glories to the assembled devotees at Radha Kalachandji dhama!" - Vaisesika dasa
