HH Bhakti Purusottama Maharaja has made a statement on behalf of the management in Mayapur: Bhakti.Purusottama.Swami@pamho.net:
We can immediately put one sign board at bathing ghat mentioning to be careful in taking bath.
One notice at each guest house reception can be posted.
Mayapur management can prepare one welcome brochure for everybody who comes to stay at Mayapur in which we mention the dangers of taking a bath in Ganga.
We can announce it during each festivities period.
Can any one help us develop the sign board and the welcome brochure about this Ganga bath?
Thank you very much.
Your humble servant
Bhakti Purusottama Swami
I humbly suggest many devotees give their input on the wording, for the brochure. I humbly suggest to put the face and pictures of devotees that drowned and the history of their devotional service, it will be way to honor them and also serve as a warning to others.
I read Jada Bharat Prabhus article and it is greatly helpful. However, my
suggestion is not even to try to swim there but simply take a dip inside the
Ganges at a safe spot that could be determined for gents and ladies
(separately of course as is the tradition). Let's pray to Lord Caitanya to
protect His devotees from drowning in the Ganges, and give them the sense to
protect their lives there.
