Vrnda women's asrama developments
Posted June 7, 2005
Please accept my humble obeiscanes. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
In the past you may have seen some posts about the newly formed Vaisnavi Retirement and Development Association. The purpose of V.R.N.D.A. is to establish decent, safe, and sanitary housing and support services for retiring Vaisnavis of very limited means.
As of May 27, 2005, V.R.N.D.A. has received its 501c3 tax-exempt charitable status from the IRS. We are currently developing a plan to raise funds and goods, all of which will be tax deductible to the donor.
Our plan is to begin with a small house near the Dallas temple. We hope to find a house large enough to support two to three ladies comfortably. V.R.N.D.A. is currently seeking kindhearted souls who might be interested in helping maintain this asrama. A budget has been developed ($2200 monthly) as to how much money we will need to maintain this first asrama. We are fully aware that many devotees are struggling financially and we have no wish to put undue pressure on any one person. It is our hope for those who cannot help directly, that they will help us by telling others about our mission.
