"He reasons ill who says that vaisnavas die
Whilst thou art living still in sound!
They die to live and in living try
To spread the Holy Name around!"

To honor the passing of this great vaisnava, as well as to offer solace to his devoted disciples, we are pleased to announce that the murti form of Tamal Krsna Goswami has finally manifest.

Being requested by some of his disciples, we have just finished producing this sculpture of remarkable likeness in expression and features. Some disciples have already received their murti and feel themselves once again reunited with their gurudeva. Photos can be emailed upon request.

Spay And Neuter Your Pets?
by Kylie Dicks
Posted November 26, 2006

I've got a question which I hope someone out there can help with. I keep pet rabbits, both male and female, but don't want to breed them. In the past I used to get them neutered, but now that I'm practicing Krishna consciousness, I'm not sure whether this is acceptable for devotees.

I understand that according to sastra, humans shouldn't use any kind of birth control but rather control their senses. (Click here for the full article)

Pirated Bamboonotes Videos
by Krishna Kumar das Mumbai, India
Posted November 20, 2006

I would like to caution devotees that pirated verisons of many of my Bamboonotes children CD's/DVD's are available in the market. Some shops in Vrindavan are selling them too. Even web sites like Matchless Gifts, www.matchless-gifts.com are selling pirated verions. Apart from many problems with quality of CD/DVD , the content may also not be complete.

Besides of course, this discourages the genuine producers of spiritual content and rewards those who want easy money. (Click here for the full article)

Devotees Challenge New LAX Restrictions

by Doug Irving, Los Angeles Daily Breeze
Posted November 19, 2006

Travelers rushing through Los Angeles International Airport remain fair game for people collecting money for charity, two months after a judge's ruling cleared the way for sharp restrictions on that kind of soliciting.

With the holiday travel season fast approaching, though, airport police hope to begin enforcing new rules that would greatly limit how and where solicitors can approach travelers at LAX. But one group whose devotees have made an industry of airport soliciting -- the Hare Krishnas -- plans to seek an injunction to stop them. (Click here for the full article)

Tucson Devotees Chant in Day of the Dead Parade
by Bhaktin Tracy
Posted November 16, 2006

In a parade dedicated to worshiping ghosts and spirits, the merciful ray of bhakti shone brightly through the darkness. The Day of the Dead parade is one of the largest public gatherings in Tucson. It stems from the Mexican holiday in which ghosts and spirits are allowed this one day of the year to walk amongst the living. It is a time to celebrate loved ones who have passed on, and to realize that death is a part of life. For the devotees of the Hare Krishna Temple, however, participating in the parade was a wonderful opportunity to show the eternality of the soul and to spread the Holy Name to every eager ear. Revive Preaching in the U.K.
by Nitai das
Posted November 12, 2006

Two recent articles posted on Dandavats, "Tory Leader to visit Hindu temple" and "20,000 to celebrate Diwali in a blaze of lights," highlight the urgent need for a revival of preaching. The United Kingdom, especially London, needs innovative methods in preaching to the masses.

I appreciate the effort of the present leadership, and their intentions are commendable. Many Hindus are taking to Krsna consciousness, and this is great. However, there is a misconception that politicians like Dave Cameron visiting Bhaktivedanta Manor or holding a Diwali festival with 20,000 Hindus attending is good publicity for Krishna consciousness. Vastu is a Holy Vedic science related to buildings, temples, furniture, plots etc. This science is based on material elements like earth, water, fire, earth etc. and 8 directions. For e.g. North east side of building represents water elements but if you put in that direction fire than in your home generally there will be fight amongst family members.

So building is like your body (actually it is an extension of your body). If your body is sick (elements are not in proportionate condition) you will not feel good, (Click here for the full article)

Yes, I too feel the pinch from so much tapo divyam, but there is relief and a forum where these austerities we have been performing can be a great asset in crystallizing our devotional realizations. ALMATY (Reuters) - The Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe criticised Kazakhstan on Monday for destroying part of a village housing Hare Krishna followers, calling the incident a form of religious intolerance.

The criticism comes at a time when the Central Asian nation is seeking to shore up Western support for its bid to become the first former Soviet state to take the helm of the OSCE in 2009.

Kazakhstan has accused followers of Hare Krishna, a form of Hinduism, of illegally acquiring land near the commercial capital Almaty. (Click here for the full article)

I am very sorry to hear about the news about the Govt of Kazakhstan knocking down the only Krsna buildings. Many times political organisations disturb the religious organisations and the outcome can be very severe for the political parties.

One such case is that when the Taliban knocked down the huge Buddha sculptures in Afganistan and in a year or two, the Taliban was out of power. In Nepal too, the previous government did not allow the registration of many religious organisations, and that government also soon lost power. A few times a week a family of deer or a covey of quail will amble through. All of these creatures reproduce at will, but are also subject to predation by hawks, owls, ravens and eagles. Cougars and bears have been known occasionally to make their way into Victoria as well. The deer are sometimes killed by a fast car on the freeway, and smaller animals are consumed by predators. Imaging Technology Restores Damaged Madhva Text

by Susan Gawlowicz, Rochester Institute of Technology
Posted November 21, 2006

Scientists who worked on the Archimedes Palimpsest are using modern imaging technologies to digitally restore a 700-year-old Vaishnava palm-leaf manuscript. The project, led by P.R. Mukund and Roger L. Easton Jr., professors at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York, will digitally preserve the original writings known as the Sarvamoola-granthas, attributed to the scholarly preceptor Sripada Madhvacharya (1238-1317). The collection of 36 works contains his Sanskrit commentaries on sacred scriptures and conveys an exposition of his philosophical system (popularly known as Dvaita Vedanta, to emphasize its departure from Sripada Sankaracharya's earlier system of Advaita Vedanta). The Passing of Yogamaya Dasi
by Hanuman das, Christchurch, New Zealand
Posted November 17, 2006

After six weeks of intense hearing, chanting and prayer with a group of 25 to 30 devotees, Her Grace Yogamaya devi dasi finally left our association.

On Saturday, Yogamaya prabhu woke just after midnight. As she was in some discomfort the devotees present began a soft kirtan. Yogamaya also joined in this kirtan and, although her shortness of breath made it very difficult for her to chant, she continued with determination. (Click here for the full article)

Rudrani Ammayi - in Memoriam
by Kewlmallu

Rudrani prabhu in her beloved Tulsi garden (photo taken in 2001)

After a lifetime of pain and suffering, Rudrani Ammayi finally passed away on November 10, 2006. Born in 1953 as Rebecca Flynn, she originally hailed from Nova Scotia, Canada.

Two major things in her life are her faith and her struggle with her disabilities. Early in her life as a young woman, she was involved in a horrific car accident, which resulted in disabilities that plagued her and racked her body with pain for the rest of her life. In spite of that, she was always cheerful, brave and devout. She was an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna, having accepted the Vaishnava faith brought to the west by Srila Prabhupada. Private Guards Rough Up Devotees in Pretoria
by Eshwar Soriakumar, ISKCON Pretoria, South Africa
Posted November 11, 2006

On the night of Saturday, November 4, 15 members of the Hare Krishna society in Pretoria were on a regular weekly street chanting and singing campaign in Pretoria when a confrontation occurred and they were badly assaulted.

On the regular route through Hatfield square we were accosted and physically assaulted while chanting amid 500 spectators in an open-air restaurant arena.

Security guards had insisted we leave; we attempted to comply while continuing to sing. After a few drunk locals began hurling vulgarities and absurdities at the devotees, the guards came right up to us and grabbed us forcefully. (Click here for the full article)

They need our protection and our love and in return, they will give their very life, their total dedication in service to us. Can anyone say that about a tractor?
